Mississauga has every kind of food business, from neighbourhood grocers in Malton and Cooksville to restaurants along Hurontario and Dundas, to food operators in the industrial areas around Pearson. Trust Cooling supplies, installs and services commercial refrigeration across the Greater Toronto Area, and Mississauga is part of that service area. We are based in North York, and the 401 and 427 make west-end sites a straightforward drive for our team.
What we offer is the whole job in one place. We help you choose equipment, lay out the space, install and commission everything, and then maintain it. When the person who designed your layout is also the person responsible for servicing it, the design tends to be more practical.
The requests vary, but a few come up again and again:
Every project starts with a conversation about your space, your products, your volumes and your timeline. We can do this on site or from your floor plans. From there we draft a layout that balances display impact with customer flow and service access, and we select equipment for each product line, footprint and budget. We explain energy and refrigerant options in plain terms so you can make a real decision rather than just accept a spec sheet.
Installation covers delivery, levelling, plumbing, commissioning and handover. Our technicians test everything so the equipment is ready to load on day one. If you are upgrading a store that is open, we will talk through phasing so you are not left with an empty aisle for longer than necessary.
Many Mississauga businesses operate from plaza units or light-industrial buildings. These are often good spaces for refrigeration, with open floor plates and reasonable ceiling heights, but they bring their own questions. Where will the condensing unit go, and is roof access available? Is the electrical service large enough for the new load? Is there a floor drain near where the walk-in will sit? Will the landlord need to approve rooftop equipment?
We raise these questions early so they do not turn into delays. A walk-in can be built to your floor and ceiling height with insulated panels in 80, 100 or 150 mm thickness, and hinged or sliding doors depending on how product moves in and out.
Food premises in Mississauga are inspected by Peel Public Health. Under Ontario’s rules, potentially hazardous food has to be kept at 4°C or colder. Our walk-in coolers are typically configured to run between 0°C and +5°C and freezers between −18°C and −25°C, with final settings tailored to what you store. Temperature monitoring with alarms can be built in, so you hear about a problem before an inspector or a customer does.
Refrigeration needs regular attention to stay efficient. We offer planned preventive maintenance and 24/7 emergency support for urgent failures. If a case or walk-in is warming up, see our repair and emergency service page for what to do while help is on the way.
Do you cover all of Mississauga? Yes. We work across the city, from Port Credit and Clarkson to Meadowvale, Malton and the business parks near the airport, as part of our GTA service area.
Should I choose open multidecks or glass-door coolers? It depends on the product and the store. Open cases make it easy to grab product and suit fast-moving lines such as produce and dairy. Glass doors keep cold air in, which usually lowers energy use and works well for drinks and frozen food. Many stores use both, and we will explain the trade-offs for your layout.
Can you replace just one case? Yes. Many projects are a single case or one section, not a full fit-out.
Flexible equipment financing is available through our partner EconoLease, which can help you open or upgrade without tying up capital. Our equipment is warranty-backed.
